Back in the real world and its back to the grind and over all its been a good return. The boost playing and competing against the best players in the world and realising I aint too bad after all is immeasurable, I personally think its one of the biggest boost ive had poker wise for a couple of years. How weird that going out 90th in a tournament could make me feel so good about my game!!! But well, it as. I took my new found confidence straight to the 2/5 and 5/10 tables over the weekend and turned in a pretty good profit. Unfortunately a day of cooler hands on Monday undid the good work, but the coolers most definitely have not undo my confidence! Due to a long standing appointment I took the whole of yesterday off which considering the day I had on Monday was no bad thing. I finally got my finger back on the mouse this afternoon and basically picked up where I left off at the weekend, its been a good session! Ive also change my style somewhat and I feel at the moment my current style is definitely causing the regs to ask major questions as to what the hell im doing! Ive generally always has a semi –loose game with a vpip of around 20-25%, well the last week or so its regularly touching 40% which looks sooooooooo fishy!!!!!! Ive also had a new alias at betfair, this was due to the account change over due to the rake race promotion on there. So im now playing under my usual if slightly altered alias of 9strummer. Now the first thing that struck me was that I got much much MUCH more table chat/abuse aimed at me using this name!!!!! Playing under my previous alias it seems that it was only players at badbeat who knew who I was thus not much rail birding or comment from the tables, but within a couple of hours of playing under the 9strummer I received a few notable pieces of advice, my favourite comment was from some player who hit n run at a 5/10 nl game against me, then asked me to play 10/20 HUFL witch I duly did. After he’d mugged 5 big bets of me he sat out, then told me for a pro whos been at it for 6 years I hadn’t improved much. It brought a smile to face! Nothing surer I know im doing something right if im getting abused at the tables!! Over all a great start to the month and as long as I can find quality time to play im sure im on for a very good month indeed.
