Naturally ive been talking to alot of people since my return from Vegas and the conversation takes a pretty standard line, im asked how Vegas was and i reply in so many words it was sh1t. Generally the reply is taken as me speaking as i do, blunt and too the point, i dont like to waffle! Today however someone wasnt happy with my one word summary of nearly two weeks in Vegas and thus hit me with a 101 questions. After the grilling, he looked at me as if i was something he'd just cleaned off his shoe and said "So you travel first class to one of the greatest cities on earth to play poker in the biggest sporting event on earth, you stay in a five star hotel and dine at some of the finest restaurants in the world and you do this for two weeks, and all you can say is it was sh1t"?! Granted when put like that it does seem that i have no sense of reality! Ok i take it back, on reflection it was indeed a wonderful life experience, one that im eternally greatful to have been lucky enough to live through, but then this is missing the whole point of the trip and that was to work and make money and on that score i failed and thus in my mind the trip was sh1t! Ok obviously the travelling, eating and sleeping where world class!! But hey i lost money and thats what counts!!!!!!!! Still just for the record i want to make it crystal clear that i am indeed totally and utterly 100% greatful to the gods for allowing me to live such a priviliged life, but at the same time i reserve the right to call a two week working trip sh1t when its cost me many thousands of pounds, i mean how many other people go away to work for two weeks and come back so much out of pocket?!!!!!! Anyway lets move on, played some online on Saturday, found an amazing value 10/20 game that was going ok even when card dead, it was to finish within an hour when my three bet that wasnt going to be passed due to being pot committed with 1010 was beaten by a guy who couldnt get his chips in quick enough with AK, i know AK is a huge hand, but this is a game where ive played like a nit for an hour, ive not raised yet never mind three bet but yet hes more than willing to stack off against me with AK? I mean seriously what on earth is he putting me on, AQ??? And there i go again, im moaning because i find a great table and moan because they play the way a great table should play!!! Not wishing to do my bollocks in i call it a day and take Sunday and Monday off too (lots of hands from my mentor group to review, much better to watch other peoples pain than feel it myself). This morning im back to playing six tables of 2/5. I finish the session two buy ins down, ive just reviewed my big losing hands: AK v KK (this is not the same as me losing with 1010! This fella could have been in here with AQ, AJ, A10 or any pair thus all in with AK CAN be justified), kk v AA, 88 v 22 on a 82A flop........2 on the turn and 55 v 99 on a 95x board, all pretty standard stuff, sh1t happens, thats the game, the thing that does bother me though is that all the hands where against the same player on different tables! I mean come on !!!!! What are the odds!!!!!!!!!! Well its a nice welcome back to the tables from Betfair, thankyou, so kind!!
