After much thought i finished the WSOP not in a poker room but in a bar, having not had one night out while in Vegas i decided to have a drink to finish this years trip. So skalie took me on his Vegas tour taking in some of the lesser known bars and casinos of Vegas but yet that offer by far the best laugh. Has the night reached early morning we crawled over to Ceasers Palace. This is the venue for this years Ladbrokes WSOP players so skalie wanted to check the place out and find a meeting bar for the players. After a couple of hours, many beers and many more shots im pretty sure we found the bar, only problem is i cant remember where. Having visited Vegas a couple of times with Ladbrokes staying at the rat hole Rio im pleased to confirm that Ceasers is a massive improvement! A much bigger, lighter, cleaner and classier place im sure this years Ladbrokes trip will be the best yet. My last memory of the night out was skalie pulling up a seat in 50c/$1 game in the irish casino on the strip, most at the table couldnt believe that this "star" of poker was sat down at there table, but skalie being the gent he is told them all he'd gone broke and this was all he could afford to play, yanks being yanks they believed every word he said. Woke the next day at 14.00 perfecting timing to catch my 16.00 flight home, which im pleased to say was upgraded to upper class for the very respectable price of £300, let me tell you now its money well spent, being able to turn your seat into a full length bed resulting in a good nights sleep (even though the flight was without question the roughiest flight ive been on as the pilot fought against serious turbulence) is worth every penny. The flight home though was more than cancelled out by that once great now limp airline BA. To get from London to Manchester i had to get on a coach for an hour to Heathrow then pay TWO HUNDRED pounds- thats no spelling error, to fly london to manchester on the worlds biggiest carrier, i had to pay, one way two hundred f***ing quid, what a fitting way to end the trip- it started by getting my hat nailed on by some thieving vegas cab driver and finished with that hat being well and truely nailed down by the masked robbers of British Airline, the worlds favourite airline my ***!!!! Can feel a real rant coming on now so im going to stop writing now, a tired, wounded strummer with a key board can lead to very nasty things! Vegas overview 2009 to follow after some much needed sleep!
