WSOP 10th June part two

"dont worry, there will be no where near a 1000 runners for the shootout", these are the wise words of my room mate skalie yesterday. So we make our way over to the Rio this morning at about 10.30, first job to register me for todays $1500 shootout that was restricted to 1000 runners and then to eat breakfast before play. SHOOTOUT SOLD OUT read the sign.  Well no problem i regiester for the $1500NLHE game tomorrow have breakfast then head over to the Venetian to play the daily $500 deep stack. On the way over in the taxi i dont think im feeling as "fresh" as i was early this morning thus the idea of possibly playing for 12 hours doesnt seem such a good idea so i settle for playing some cash getting a seat in a 2/5 game sitting in with $1000. Now when im playing good i listen to myself and often go with what my head is telling me, 10 hands in my head is telling me that im still knackered and should maybe go back to my room for a couple of hours kip................why didnt i listen!!!!!!! I play two big pots and do the $1000 in. The first pot im dealt As4s and raise early position getting two callers, the flop comes Ac 6d 8s. I bet out and get one caller, the turn brings the Jd, again i bet out and the fella pushes all in, its another $120 for me to call for a pot worth $450. Ive got the fella on either a set or a straight draw, after thinking about it i feel im priced in to call and when he says im infront its pretty obvious he has the straight draw, the river is a 10s and he was indeed on the straight draw but with a flush draw too, he then tells the table he was about 68% fav for the pot which brought a smile to my face, when i asked him if he wanted to run it a couple more times he went suddenly deaf! Kind of happy with my play/thinking i start to tell myeslf maybe im not to tired and i was right not to listen to myself............New guy joins the table and plays the first five or six hands. First to act he raises to $25, i find Ks10s mid position and call, everyone else passes. The flop is a very attractive 10d 2s 7s. He bets out i call. The Turn is a very very nice Kh, when he bets the pot im sure hes got a good hand, probably AA, AK or a very unlikely KK. If hes got AA or the AK im sure an all in move gets paid, if i call and make the flush i might miss my pay day and if hes got the KK i still have outs so i push my remaining $400 which he calls straight away. The flop is a wrag and he flips over KK. Again im happy with the way the hands played, its a coolier simple but im not happy that i didnt listen to myself after 10 hands and walk away and go get some sleep!!! Im now back in the room just about to take a power nap, a very exspensive $1000 power nap!!!! I only started playing cash in Vegas last year as in previous years i just focused on the WSOP events and the Ballagio cup events, this is my first ever losing session in a cash game in Vegas which i feel could have been avoided! Such is life! Still, plenty of time to put things right, so a couple of hours sleep then back to the grind, viva las vegas!!
