Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Theres no one more pleased than I to see the back of 2008 and no one more excited looking forward too 2009. 2008 as ended on the right note with the final 5 days play taking the upswing to $18,000 for the month which helped sort the P&L big time! Obviously off the back of such a much needed upswing the confidence is well and truely back, just a shame that all accounts at badbeat are zeroed for a couple of days while im at the peak of my game!!!!!!!!! The last couple of days Ive been playing the 50/100 FL game with the odd single table of $1000NL. Though ive havnt run half as well at 50/100FL as i have at 30/60FL the over all return as still been good. This was mainly down to finding a table with two either very drunk or very wealthy or maybe both players! Playing over 70% of flops and capping virtually every pot pre flop hand the game actually turned into a 25/50/150/200 blind game. With that kind of table theres only one way to play and thats sit tight and play solid hands and pray the aggressive mups dont hit to often! The final session yesterday with them got off to a stinker with me droping 30 big bets in the first hour but things turned and by the time i left i was 35 big bets to the good, in a 2 hours a fine session by any standard. The $1000NL as also gone pretty well for me the last few weeks. A few months ago i was playing 6 tables of $1000NL and on reflection i cant help but think i gave away to much of my game by spreading myself over 6 tables. By sticking to just the 1 table im finding that im picking up much better "reads" on players betting paterns and thus having more focus and confidence in my game to act on what i see and believe. Maybe its the rose tint after a good few weeks play but i think cutting back on the tables played as played a big part in my recovery these last few weeks. Im still not sure about how long me playing FL will last. The games been good to me the last couple of months, i won the LEOCOP FL event and the cash games have been pretty consistant for me but thats been mainly down to finding a few crazy fish and running pretty good. What i do know from bitter experience is that FL can be one sick game when it turns on you, but as the saying goes, while the sunshines make hay! Im hoping that in 2009 im far quicker to act when i hit the down swings, steping down quickly when things go wrong is a massive part of long term winning, looking back to the major downswing of 2008 i think i acted too slowly in droping down the levels and thus protecting my P&L..............well always something to gain from the bad times. I also think/hope that 2009 is finally a year where i actual run hot, I feel that over the last 4 years ive never really had a serious hot spell, sure ive had a couple of weeks here and there but never that sick sick hot run!!!!!!! Well its due and i think its due now, in fact i think its already started!!!!! So im going to run hot and im going to drop right down the levels if i hit any down swing! Then theres the live events!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok dont get to greedy, i will take just the one WSOP braclet please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAaaaaaaahhhhhhh fooooook it I'll take an EPT as well please! Anyway the future is unwritten, so reach for the stars, and heres to a wonderful 2009!!!!!
