Four winning days on the run last week, nothing major just a buy in here and there but it got the monthly P&L level and is my longiest winning run in months !!!! It also set me up for the LEOCOP main event at Ladbrokes, a $1000 buy in event with TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ADDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who said there no value out there anymore!!!! The structure of the tournement was also out of this world with 10,000 starting chips, a 30 minute clock and a stack of new levels put in to add to the playability. Naturely with the $250,000 added prize money the field was big and also attracted alot of the big names, it was just like the old days with the like of Ben Sonnett, Paul Jackson, Iwan Jones, John Kalmar, John Shipley, Conner Tate and even Richard Herbert sitting down in a Ladbrokes tourney! Every table i played on was full of alias from the past and it was good once again to be back at a sight were there was actually good banter in the chat box rather than just the standard abuse you get at other sites......................wouldnt it be wonderful if they could just get the cash tables full of fish and then we could all return to Ladbrokes and atleast have a laugh while we are getting shafted!!!! So back to the tourney, well i had a great tourney- early doors i played alot of hands cheaply which i think helped me gain a fishy table image that ensured when i hit a big flop my over bets got paid, from very early on i was well chiped and even though i say it myself i was playing rather well !!!!! Aamazingly it took 10 hours just to reach the last 70 and the money, the structure was that good, i do think though that maybe next time Ladbrokes should look at making it a two day event, playing 10-12 hours on a Sunday is a pretty big ask just to make the money, especially if you have a real job to go to on the Monday! Keep the great structure and split it over Saturday/Sunday! By the time i got knocked out in 40th place it was gone 06.00am, id played for 11 hours and there was still 40 players and along long way to go, god knows what time it actually finished but i wouldnt be suprised if it was close to mid-day! I was pretty peeved that i was knocked out so close to the big money but yet so far, i'd played small pot poker all the way through, and hadnt got my chips all in pre flop once on my way to the chip lead off 150,000 with around 200 players left.................but then at some stage i was going to have to play some big pots pre flop as blinds got bigger and the BIG antis kicked in. My first all in was a 50k pot with AQ v AJ............J on the river i lose, i then get in in with 10 7 on a 10 7 2 board against QQ, runner runner spade i lose anoher 100k pot. Both times i grind back the stack to around the 150k mark..........then i get KK and run it into the massive AJ and lose another 100k pot, and this time the blinds are starting to hurt and the cards arnt helping me. My final hand i actually get it in bad with AQ v 88 but unlike the rest of the fish world i cant win when i put it in behind (its not a true 50/50)!!!! I finshed 40th after 11 hours and pick up $2k !!!!!!!!!! 11 hours, see of 95% of the field and double my money, thats painful!!!! Still im sure im back in form and sure im due a big score soon............just hoping its real soon!!!
