So October finished with much needed profit and just as important a confidence boosting title.............but thats yesterdays news and its a new month that brings new challanges, the main one being recording a winning month at the cash table!!! Ive had plenty of converstaions over the last fews weeks about the fact i droped so far down the NL games, 3 months ago i was playing mainly 6 tables of 5/10 but often played the 10/20 and 25/50 games when there was value there, then about two weeks ago i dropped down to the 1/2 NL game. The same question was asked over and over again, "how can you go from playing 25/50 to 1/2"!!? Most people seem to think that by droping down so low you are saying your not good enough to play higher, putting up the white flag. Like most poker players, ok like all poker players i have an ego and droping down to the 1/2 tables i must admit gave my ego a slap, but for me thats fine, im big enough to check the ego thing and remember that the reason i play this game is to make money, to pay the bills, to put food on the table! If that means from time to time when the poker gods are laughing at me, or im playing bad, or as happened a couple of weeks ago both, i have to drop right down the levels till the sickness passes and until my game returns, well so be it...............whats that saying, pride comes before a fall? Being big enough to admit your running/playing bad and then overiding your ego and droping down the levels isnt easy, but over the years ive found out its a must if you want to play this game full time. Ive gone back to the 2/4NL now, this month was flat till yesterday when i had one of them sessions were i did everything wrong, the main problem was pushing the fish to hard and trying to get them to fold, that just isnt going to happen!!! The day ended with me losing 5 buy ins leaving my month to date 4 buy ins down, not the start i was looking for but at the same time a far better spot than i was in 4 weeks ago! The LEOCOP win as pulled me out of a massive hole though im still deep in a hole and the last thing i need to do is start bluffing money off to the unbluffables!!! So its back to the grind for the rest of the month and hopefully back to filling the rest of the hole!!!!!
