Well its been 7 long stress free days, 168 hours, 10080 minutes, 604800 seconds....................now im not saying i counted every second but it was on my mind a little!!!!!!! So to the big day, i felt like a kid on Christmas day full of thoughts of what could be! For the time being until the winning sessions and the confidence returns ive decided to play right down the levels at 2/4 playing just the 4 tables, by doing this hopefully i wont do too much damage if not 100% on the game and of course if the poker gods are still playing with my mind!!! Grandslam was choice of site, mainly due to the larger number of tables available. The usual aproach to table selection is sit on waiting list and join the first six that open up- well another part of me getting back on the winning ladder is being far more selective of the tables i play, as Jeff Burke would say " If I want a fight I dont go looking for Mike Tyson"! So eventually i get 4 tables going and play for 2 hours, again I usually play until im tired, but for the time being two hour sessions, stop then look at my game. After the two hour session i go over the session, Ive played one pot for a 100BB against i fella i was sure i had on tilt, my JJ v AK didnt have much of a chance, 50/50s play out more like 10/90 at the moment for me ! Apart from that hand the only other pot lost of substance was were i bet pot on the river on a board with a possible full house, straight and flush showing...........after much thought the nit (notes now changed!!!) called with top two pair- about the 50th best hand!!!!!!!!! Talk about right bet, right time just wrong player (NOTES HAVE CHANGED!!). The session ended with me 1 1/2 buy ins down, but a session that had very few big hands pre flop, and where I didnt hit much on the flop i was in some strange way happy!!!!!!!!! Still losing and happy- i seriously need to take my head for a wobble!!!!!!! The next session was an evening session which ran pretty much the same apart from this time i managed to flop quads Qs with Q8 sooooooooooted and take down a 200BB pot against AA- at the end of play i finished $150 down- certainly not the winning day i was looking for but with my all in EV putting me $1000 skalanski up im more than happy that i have returned with my game in good shape- the break as done me good i think...................just need it to do the same for the P&L !!
