A return to the game i should be playing everytime i sit down- no suprise that after finally pulling my head out off my big fat *** i have a winning day- thank heavens! There have been a couple of reasons why my game went AWOL over the weekend: First off ive moved to Mansion and there short handed game is 5 handed rather than the 6 handed game im used too, this means my hand selection lowers slightly VERY slightly, but i lowered the hand selection too much over the weekend and thus often found myself in pots with second best. The other major problem with my game over the weekend was my lack of respect for my opponents. In the brief time ive been playing at Mansion i have come to the conclution that the average player there is not the highest of standards with a complete lack of understanding of poker basics, that being hand selection and positional play......................so one of the biggest edges i can have is hand selection and positional play, so what do i do? I start playing like them, any two cards any position in the belief that im far better than them thus will out play them on the flop! Muppet!!!!!!! Thankfully yesterday i got my act together and started playing poker, winning poker not ego driven knobhead poker. I am slightly down for the month but considering the way ive played over the weekend and how much i lost in this period ive got to be happy to be just a few hours away from profit! With 2 weeks of the month left im setting myself a target of 20 buy ins, too achieve i need to make no more mistakes and get back to doing the hours! Time will tell.
