They say a week is a long time in politics....well they want to try a month at BadBeat! Despite everything thats happening away from poker I managed to turn in an ok winning month for March with about $20k in profit. At BadBeat every month, there are nine seats to the monthly GUKPT events up for grabs. To win one you need to hit certain rake requirement plus a decent profit. The rake target isn't a problem - playing six tables soon gets the rake sorted. As for the profit, well a couple of months ago $20k would comfortably win a seat....jes how things change!!!

This month my $20k got me no higher than 6th on the leader board with first place having won close to $200k and second place around the $170k!!!!! Now that is what I call a good month. Gone are the days of automatic winning of seats. Thankfully my overall monthly performance was enough for the powers that be to award me one of the "director choice" seats so i'm not going to miss my home town leg of the GUKPT, but if last years performance is anything to go by that might not have been a bad thing.

Finished the month with my biggest losing day of the month losing five buy ins and if i'm honest, I didn't play too good making too many marginal calls and then two bluffs against the unbluffable - still I was at least able to walk away before any damage was done.
