Soooooooooooooo... blogging.. I'm not very good at that =)
Since my last blog a fair bit has gone down and I'll try to summarise.
Malta:
Well this trip had to be put on hold. It was my initial idea to go out and live with a couple of friends who have a nice apartment and then see if i wanted to rent my own place. This kinda of changed to some1wanting to rent with me.. sadly 5 days b4 we were meant to leave (and i had flights booked and euros changed up) my roommates father passed away... so i decided not to go out and find a place of my own.. then 'waiting one more week' turned into months and well I'm still here. To be honest financially probably wasn't ideal timing as just paid off credit cards etc and was a little cash short. So put off Malta until I can find a new room mate, or afford living by myselfmore comfortably. Is a true shame but o well... if i played better then I would be sunning myself right now!
Poker:
Poker has been terrible. /Thread. Now thats taken care of... lol. Well I'll explain why, and thats laziness. For somebody who is meant to be playing full time, putting in 60 hours a month is pretty insulting. Couple that with playing terribad and running even worse. Please see pics below for graphs and results.
To be honest I'm actually really embarressed with my poker playing this month and also generally where im at. I'm still playing mainly $100nl which is pretty sucky as I believe I have the game to beat 2.50/5 (one time agree strummer lol) but just don't have the balls to find out or play higher. Mainly because I have a fair few bills for the next 6 months to pay off and just like the monthly profit grinding $100nl brings in. The thing I'm mostly avoiding is moving up to like 1/2 and getting in the hole v quickly and having to drop back down. Which is going ot take me twice as long to get out of. Maybe thats a pesemistic view of it all, but currently everytime I move up to 1/2 that happens... the breif 20k hands or so i've played there i was 3k under ev and left a bad taste in my mouth. However I think in June I will move up, as I should be +20k by the end of the month at $100nl life time (like 7 months) and really its just a confidence thing.
This month has gone attrotious. I'm playing probably the worst I've ever played and pretty annoyed with myself. I have a prop bet on profit for the month with a friend and I bet with him 2.5x whatever he won vs my straight up with rb. Basically I'm dead already 10 days in I think lol. gg there.
So yes basically sometime this year, I need to play alot better and redefine my 3 betting oop vs thinking regs *yes there are one or 2 at $100nl* and correct a few more leaks. If you woulda asked me a month ago how my game was, I woulda said super sharp. Sadly this month has destroyed my confidence down to nothing. Confidence in poker is a problem I've always had but I'm not sure if effects me more than most, or if your as much down on ev as I am its just a by product. (see graphs). Hate to blame luck but it is in my nature to constantly check graphs and *** and tbh feel hard done by. Probs wanna change that mentality.
Live Events:
Well I used some of my live br (shoulda got more but meh I fail at grinding) to buy into the UKIPT in killarney (kerry ireland) on June 24th. It is a 1100 euro buy in and held a Gleneagles which is some golf establishment I'm told similar to the one in Scotland. I think the WSOP will not happen for my this year, for the 2nd year in a row. I'm not eligible for the betfair promo and I'm using up my live br mainly on this UKIPT thing. Maybe if I put in some hours I'll have enough to go but I don't see the point in going unless I have enough $ in my pocket for a few 1500's and probs 5k+ for cash games. Vegas is great, but nobody ever plays online there, even if they mean to. Distractions all round and such.. maybe one of these days I'll be balla enought to not have to plan out my year and just go on a whim but I can't see that year being 2010.
Other ***:
I invested a few k in a new set up as my mac (that ran windows) was flagging and frankly betfair is unstable at the best of times, let alone on a shody machine. So I brought an upgraded pc tower and added 2 HD samsung montiors. It's pretty sweet if I do say so myself and as yet not had any issues with it. Has definatly multitable better but tbh I won't push it and say I've done more volume as that would be a flat out lie =)
O I took on 2-3 students who contacted me for ssnl coaching about 2 months ago. That's been pretty cool and although I'm not exactly 'great' I do think I have more than enough knowledge to beat $200nl and below and the stats to prove that. I've always been honest about my results with them and I have charged them very very little. It's been good for both parties and tbh I'm mainly doing it so that one day maybe badbeat could offer me a small coaching team of $100nl and below grinders (hint hint).
Life wise, not alot has happened. I'm still firmly single :-) Been going for 3 mile runs most days and joining the gym this week in the hopes of putting on a bit of weight and might even attempt to lose the vampire tan I'm rocking. Also currently having a post grind crate of corona and discount rolo easter egg feast so life is good ;-)
My 2010 goals probs won't be reached, well the volume one at least. 100k a month just aint looking good... I think I've averaged about 30k.. although tbh this month should do about 75k+
My last 220k hands @ $100nl... won a whole $500 profit...50 buyin's below ev (also red line needs to improve)

March wasn't all that bad. Shame I put in like 70 hours and apparently wasted the other 650 hours in the month...
April (this month).. forgot how to play to be honest. Pretty embarressing. HOWEVER I have put in some voulme like 40 hours already this month and it might turn around.
