Hey Everyone,
As its my first blog for badbeat.com i'm going to sum things up so far,
i started playing for badbeat 6 months ago, playing HU cash at 50nl, was pretty rough around the edges, i didnt get off to super good start, running not great and playing pretty naff, so i got moved down to 20nl which wasnt great but was probably what i needed, so i started putting the work into my game and got moved back up to 50nl, i beat that pretty good and moved up to 100nl, think im somewhere near $7,600 in the black for 2010 which is sweet, running pretty good and playing pretty good so as you all can imagine alot easyer to live with ha ha !!!!
So far this month ive been working on sharpening my board reading skills, trying to formulate a multi-street plan for how im going to play the hand once the flop comes down, am i c/betting ? what if he check raises me?whats his range if he calls? what turns are good to barrel? what turns am i checking behind on and giving up? Basically im just trying to get out of playing reactive street by street poker, once i've made my plan there's no more suprises for me in the hand as i have quickly skimmed over most things that can happen and am prepared for them, sounds good i agree, a little harder to put into practice tho, it literally means slowing my playing speed down so i can think about the situation properly and not just auto-piloting.
So this weekend looks like a pretty stress free one, going to take a break from the tables for 24 hrs i think, Paul Walsh ex -spurs footballer is doing a sportsman's dinner up here in Bishop Auckland County Durham tonight, so i'm going to pop along and unwind with a few good old pints of snakey, then get up in the morning and grind the tables for 2 days solid lol.
